NZ Backpacking Conference – Why You Should Go
| No Comments
I have already posted this once – but again the first NZ Backpacking Industry conference is on in Auckland in three weeks and if you are in this sector in NZ (or even Australia) you should be there.
- Because the NZ industry has been left behind by it’s well organised Australian neighbours who dominate at shows such as WYSTC and steal the limelight;
- There is a huge number of relevant issues facing the backpacking sector including price competition, technology advances and the potential of falling numbers – all of which should be discussed in open forums;
- It is a great networking opportunity and ideal time to swap ideas, business cards and brochures with like minded individuals from all over the country working in essentially the same business;
- Because there are a great line up of speakers including Minister of Tourism PM John Key, Tourism NZ CEO George Hickton, and Dan Roberts (Dan who??)
- You can’t whinge or complain about the industry, Tourism NZ marketing efforts, other industry initiatives if you are not going to front up and actually be part of the industry; and
- Catherine Bates of Tourism NZ is going to present the new backpacker focussed campaign
